Waco, Texas-based Balcones Distilling, part of the Diageo portfolio, is introducing a new campaign called “Whisky from a New Perspective,” highlighting the distillery’s approach to whisky-making.
The digital-first campaign is launching now in Texas, California, Colorado, New York, Florida, and Illinois. “The purpose of this new campaign is to introduce Balcones whiskies to even more consumers and show them what sets Balcones apart in the whisky space, especially in the booming American single malt category,” said Frank Dudley, brand director of Disruptive Whiskies at Diageo North America.
The Restless Dreamer Beverage Co. has launched Lovvo, a new line of canned Lambruscos. The wines, made in Emilia-Romagna by Cantina di Carpi e Sorbara, come in red, white, and rosé expressions at 8.5% abv, 11% abv, and 8.5% abv, respectively. The wines are now available in California in 4-packs of 250-ml. cans for a suggested price of $20. The new brand is handled in the U.S. by Park Street Imports. While Lovvo is launching in California, further expansion is planned for 2025.
Zing Zang, known for drinks mixers and RTDs, has debuted Zing Zang Michelada Mix. The launch is aiming to capitalize on the popularity of Mexican beer, which has resulted in surging growth for the Michelada—a cocktail blending beer with lime juice, tomato juice, and spices—according to the company. Zing Zang Michelada Mix will roll out in 32oz bottles and will be available in grocery and liquor stores, as well as online. Zing Zang is distributed nationwide in over 200,000 retail and on-premise locations.
California based importer Franzese Wines, specializing in offerings from Armenia, is launching a Franzese Sauvignon Blanc ($20) this summer, along with two non-alc reds, Franzese Non-Alcohol Dry Red ($35) and Non-Alcohol Semi-Sweet Red ($35) in the fall. The new wines will join the existing lineup which includes Franzese Areni ($25), Malbec ($25), and Armenian specialty Franzese Pomegranate Wine ($40). The brand, founded by reformed mafia boss Michael Franzese with winery partner Samvel Hakobyan, is targeting over 50,000 9-liter cases in 2024.
